Lighting design for any live medium, encompassing indoor and outdoor performance and installation projects. i specialise in site-specific theatre, outdoor events, pyrotechnical collaborations, urban architectural work, and large-scale landscape interventions. Artistic direction and creative design for live work and commissioned projects. Artistic project management, production and technical consultancy, lighting and electrics consultancy, project planning and advice. Environmental strategies for arts projects including renewable energy sources, carbon emissions reduction, management and control of consumable plastics and other pollutants. __________ My experience covers a whole range of public and private clients and locations, from the smallest of small scale theatre production, to large scale (35 000+) public events for local government. In addition to a long experience of conventional venues and managed sites, I have successfully delivered on a number of projects in environmentally sensitive areas including: SSSIs, on National Trust and English Heritage properties and in National Parks. __________ Earlier on…My work in the production industry started at CYTO, the Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation, based in a converted school gym in South Norwood in South London. As a 16 year old I had no idea where wiring 15 Amp plugs and painting canvas flattage would take me. After a three year interlude in Newcastle-upon-Tyne studying for a Ba (hons) degree in Archaeology, My first full time events job was as a crew member for London Borough of Lambeth Arts and Entertainments. I worked on The Lambeth Country Show, and free musical entertainment in the Borough’s Halls, open spaces and parks throughout the summers from 1992 to 1995 . It was this work in the early nineties that gave me a love of free outdoor public entertainment. There is nothing more magical when well conceived and executed. I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I enjoyed creating them. __________ Phil Supple Monday, 23rd March 2009 |
